What would you do if you could?
My story
Have you ever met a skeptical believer? You know, the people who believe in the idea, the product, the theory, and yet they want proof. The “yeah, I believe you, but can you prove it?” kind of person. Well, sometimes I step into that space, too, I have to admit. When I hear about a neat special thing I may want proof, but I want to experience it in some way for myself. So I tend to test certain things.
Like when my friend, Pat, passed onto me the Hiring the Heavens audio book by Jean Slatter. The premise is simple. If there is a phone book “down here” (Earth) with experts in every field that we can pick up the phone, call to get answers or have them provide a service, why couldn't there be a Spiritual Phone Book with experts on the Spiritual side just waiting to get our “call.” Jean Slatter calls this hiring a Spiritual Committee (of whatever expert field you are needing). No money is exchanged. Just a request on your part . . . and a willingness to allow them to complete the job.
So, I tested it. Only my Committee did not have a fancy name, like the Spiritual Real Estate Agent that Jean mentions, or the Spiritual Jewelry Locator (for lost jewelry), or the Spiritual Travel Agent. Nope. Mine was the Spiritual Find-My-Lost-Twenty-Dollars-And-Bring-It-Back-To-Me Committee. No etherical music played while I made my request. However, I did get a gentle nudge, “let someone know you are looking for it.” So I told my son's teacher that I lost the $20 bill and who knows where since it happened to be a school field trip day. I didn't want the $20 to magically appear as a tip to my professional services or in a birthday card. I wanted proof that that was my $20 and “they” were bringing it to me. It took a week, but sure enough, the bill was found and returned to me by the teacher. A student found it, took it home and eventually it made it back to my hands.
I've done the same with a Spiritual Navigator to help me get to a place I had never been before. I “unknowingly” parked in front of the business, which was hidden down a corridor, without realizing it until I physically got out of the vehicle. Now I use Spiritual Committees all the time to help me achieve things or ask for help in a variety of ways. I've passed on this simple technique to others as well, always crediting Jean Slatter's book for those who are interested in getting the info straight from her.
Let us return to the original question posted as to what would you do if you could do anything with no limits. What if you could do something you've always wanted to do and you knew you could “hire” a special committee specifically to help you achieve this goal? Would that help you get past the bump in the road that keeps you from getting to this experience? It does not have to be a fancy title to “hire” the committee you are needing. Obviously from my experience any specific title will do if you are clear about what you are requesting. Just give it a try. And as for me and trying something I have never done - well, I hope you will celebrate with me the release of my first CD this month. I simply announced one day that this was something I wanted to do, I didn't know how I would do it or where to go first, but “Help” arrives in many ways and when it does, it sure makes things easy - and fun!
I encourage you to give it a try, get creative. Experiment. And send me an email with your experiences. The only limits here are what you choose to limit yourself in experiencing. Release that. You don't need that old belief any more. You are free to experience and request assistance if needed. “They” are waiting for your call!
Blessings abound!
