July 2007 - What does your heart say?

What does your heart say?

My Story.
It's a funny thing when you decide to step “into your own.” This can mean beginning a business, making a decision that is different than what others expect you to do, or just finally doing what you've always wanted to do with a hobby or fun endeavor. And I think at first there is that awkward ambition that swings the pendulum of who you were into who you think you want to be and it may be over the top or a little “whoa!” for some people. But it is important nonetheless in order to find that middle ground, that solid base in which you can swing a little to the right or left without being totally thrown off your path. It is here when things begin to just feel right. It is here where it doesn't matter so much what others think or do, it's about what your heart says.

There are Reiki practioners who occasionally contact me to see what I think about articles or with Reiki questions. And I have students who contact me with items of interest or deep inquires. I decided as a Reiki Master Teacher that part of my job, and I've told this to my students, is to make myself available to help others when I can with what I know. That's part of being a teacher, in my opinion, to help guide along the trail until one becomes proficient of the pathway. My experience, my intuitive insight and my personal perspective are what I share. But it's more than this that I wish to pass on to others. I want to know what does their heart say to them? I, too, seek confirmation on “things” in and out and of this world, but it always brings me back to what I already know! My heart is constantly giving me nudges, emotional surges of “yes that feels right” or “no, something is not quiet a match here. . .”When the “pendulum swing” of your inner being is in a balanced state, clarity of the messages from your heart is crystal. And sometimes it takes “going with the flow” in order to be able to recognize how your are communicated with. I once met a lady who said she could gage things by the little “zip” she felt down her nose!

We are all moving into a new place where each of our hearts are speaking louder than they ever have before. We took my daughter to Sedona, Arizona recently. And even though I was scared of the steep edges on trails, it felt important to allow my daughter the experience of those red rocks at one of the vortexes. She “lit up” in a way I've not seen before, so confident, so sure-footed, so LIGHT! Listening to my heart to keep going, getting past my personal fear of the trail, not only showed me views of a great valley of enormous beauty, but it showed me a side of my daughter that I didn't know was part of her Being! Listening to my heart presented an opportunity for me to see my daughter's heart as well! And there she stood, in that solid middle ground of the pendulum swing, perfectly balanced and at peace. And in those moments she was able to listen to her heart with clarity and confidence. This is what I will encourage her to find whenever she needs that feeling/clarity in the future.

So find your space, use meditation, use Reiki, use massage, use quietness, use mantras, music, poetry, nature - whatever it takes to provide you a feeling of “yes, this feels right.” It is here that your heart can really speak to you (not the mind). And remember -Listening with your heart will always be clearer than hearing with the ears.

So, now what does your heart say?

Blessings to you and your families,

Bright Star
